When you’re ready to step into your new custom home, Mike Stevens Homes is the builder you can trust. The company’s 25 years of experience are on display throughout many of East Tennessee’s most prestigious neighborhoods.
Mike Stevens Homes established its reputation by building custom homes in some of Knoxville’s most popular communities, including Jackson Bend, Montgomery Cove and Sequoyah Hills, but the company soon expanded its vision to create entire neighborhoods devoted to its unique, locally-influenced homes, which now fill Iris Glen, Weatherstone and Northshore Town Center, where Mike Stevens Homes is the exclusive builder.
In 2014, Mike Stevens Homes took the next step in providing their customers with superior service by hiring an in-house architect. Now customers have the ability to watch their dream home come to life through initial meetings to decide needs and expectations, then seeing their ideas develop through sketches and 3D renderings, and finally watching their home grow from the ground up.
Today, Mike Stevens Homes, a proud family business, is continuing to grow its reputation and services, ready to match new owners with their new custom homes and neighborhoods.

Mike Stevens began his 40-year career as a builder and developer by learning the trade, hands-on, as a carpenter. For eight years, he honed his skills building, framing and trimming homes throughout the Southeast. In 1980, he took those skills on the road, traveling across the country to repair Methodist camps, and even further, to Nicaragua, where he raised money and led volunteers in building more than 100 homes. But he never forgot about his roots. As the Knoxville branch of Habitat for Humanity was getting off the ground, Mike was there to lend a hand and help it grow, using his construction and leadership experience to ensure the organization was
In 1989, Mike was a managing partner with Woodbuilt Homes and became the project manager for the Woodhaven subdivision in South Knoxville, before venturing out on his own to form the family business, Mike Stevens Homes, Inc., in 1992. As the president and owner of his own company, Mike spent years establishing his success, first by building custom homes in some of Knoxville’s most prestigious neighborhoods, and then by creating those neighborhoods himself and filling them with his gorgeous homes.
Then, in the spring of 2011, Mike took on his most meaningful project yet, helping to spearhead the “Labor of Love” project featured on WBIR-TV. The team spent months transforming the homes of twins Helen Ashe and Ellen Turner, who co-founded The Love Kitchen, an organization dedicated to feeding the homeless and homebound in Knoxville. The effort brought the community together and made a lasting impact.
Mike has dedicated his time to the following organizations:
National Association of Home Builders: Lifetime director, board member
Tennessee Association of Home Builders: Past president, current board member
Home Builders Association of Greater Knoxville: Two-term past president, lifetime director
Knoxville Habitat for Humanity: Two-term past president, past board member
Knoxville Housing Partnership: Past board member
The Wesley House Community Center: Past board member
Tennessee Housing Development Agency, Current board member
Jon Stevens was born and raised within the homebuilding industry. Under the guidance of his father, Jon moved from mowing lawns and sweeping out houses to building homes and partnering on projects. He has been an employee with Mike Stevens Homes for over 14 years. Jon graduated from Bearden High School in 2003, and four years later, was the “Top Graduate” from the College of Business Administration at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville.
Following his graduation, Jon went to work with his father, eventually becoming a partner in the company.
During that time, Jon created a system that tracks a job and its budget from initial estimate to completion, and each step along the way. That new technology has helped the company to become more efficient and to improve communication with customers, subcontractors and vendors.
Jon now serves as secretary treasurer, project manager and estimator for the company. He is a licensed
residential and small commercial contractor as well as a certified green builder by the National Association of Home Builders.
